Fall & Winter Sports

Please Note: Some of the seasonal sports have competitions that overlap. Athletes may only compete in one sport a day. Please check with the delegation regarding overlapping activities prior to signing up.

Bowling

Bowling usually begins in August. We will bowl every Sunday for 6 weeks. The District tournament is in October and the State tournament is in November.

Football

Practice usually begins in August with times and days TBD. The State tournament is in September in Cedar Rapids. Athletes will need to provide their own transportation.

Basketball

Practices begin in November on Saturdays at North Middle School. Team and Skills athletes are welcome. The District tournament is in February. The State tournament is in March in Iowa City. Bus transportation is provided.

Golf

The District golf tournament is held in October at Sun Valley Golf Course in Sioux City. The tournament is played on the par 3 course with an alternating shot format. Each athlete is paired with a partner and no experience is necessary.

Cheer

Cheer practices are TBD. The State competition is in March in Iowa City. Bus transportation is provided.

Dance

Dance practices are TBD. The State competition is in March in Iowa City. Bus transportation is provided.

Powerlifting

Powerlifting practices are TBD.
The State competition is in March in Iowa City. Bus transportation is provided.

Spring & Summer Sports

Swimming

Practices begin in January and continue every Sunday through mid-May at Morningside College. The District meet is in March in Spirit Lake, IA. Athletes earning a blue ribbon will advance to the State meet in Ames, IA in May. Athletes will need to provide their own transportation to the District and State Meets.

Track & Field

Practices will start in March at North Middle School. Practice will move outdoors to the North High School track, weather permitting. The District meet is in April in Sioux Center, IA. Athletes receiving blue ribbons at the District meet will advance to the State meet in May in Ames, IA. Athletes will need to provide their own transportation to the State and District meets.

Soccer

Practice will begin in March indoors at North Middle School. Practice will move to the North High soccer fields, weather permitting. Athletes signing up for soccer must commit to attending the State tournament in May in Ames, IA. Athletes will need to provide their own transportation to the State tournament.

Tennis

Practices begin in March and are usually held at Leif Ericksen park, weather permitting. Athletes will need to provide their own transportation to the State tournament.

Bocce

Practices are held indoors until weather permits moving outside. Practice times and locations are TBD.
Athletes signing up for bocce must commit to attending the State Games in May in Ames, IA. Athletes will need to provide their own transportation to the State Games.

Softball

Softball practice begins in late May. Team and Skills athletes are welcome. Practice is held on Sunday afternoons with time and place TBD. The District tournament is held in July in Sioux City at Chatauqua Park. The State tournament is held in August in Ankeny, IA.
Bus transportation is provided to the State tournament.
